Cheryl Segall Entertains

Singer & Performer

Cheryl is a wonderful interpreter of the American songbook. She has appeared at some of the leading performance venues in New York including her recent sold out show at metropolitan room and other shows at Feinstein’s at the Regency, the Duplex and 92nd St Y among others. In addition, she regularly does shows at libraries and cultural centers. Some of her special shows focus on the songs and lives of great performers, including Carole King, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Barry Manilow, Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel, Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager/Marvin Hamlisch, Bette Midler, Liza Minelli and Judy Garland, and the Carpenters.

Cheryl comes from a musical family.  Her father, Harvey Granat, is a popular singer and music historian and she has appeared with him many times over the years.

Cheryl has an active vocal teaching practice, working with many young people who have serious interest in singing.  Her approach combines vocal instruction and life coaching.  Her goal is to train her student musically and to instill self confidence in them as a person.  Many of her students have gone on to professional productions as well as school performances.

Guest artist Cheryl Segall performs the number with sinewy, long-note vibrato and gravitas, not a crack in powerful delivery. Phrasing is adroit. I’ve only seen this performer three times, but her chops seem currently at peak.
